Overall this parka is warm & light weight. It runs true to size with room to wear a sweater under it. I've been wearing it during a cold snap in Kentucky and in the 20's & lower 30's it's great even on overcast days with wind. I wore a sweater or swearer vest when it got into the low teens.
I wish it had a double zipper with double vents to make it easier to my phone & get into my pants pockets. I also would like it to have some white on it to help the bus driver to see me at the dark bus stop.
All in all I am very pleased and would buy it again. -

I am not comparing them to top of the line, expensive coats. I just unwrapped one, looked at it & thought: "For our usually snowy but not extremely cold (mid-south climate) this is probably more than adequate." I am a female approximately 180 pounds (something like 5'5") and I had purchased the large for my husband who is 5' 101/2 and about 170 lbs. To my surprise, on a whim I just tried this men's coat on me and thought it even looked fine on me. The price is so fair I am ordering two more--so he has two and I have two. Thank you Sierra Trading Post--this appears to be a superior purchase!

For the money you can't buy a more functional, warm winter parka and that's just how it is! Nice piece goods and pretty well sewn and the postage is about as expensive as the parka.
