4.0 out of 5 stars. Serious Maritime/ Storm JacketReviewed by Davey Crockett from Tennessee, California on Monday, March 7, 2016Fit: I'm 5'7" at 160 lbs, and the M fit my 40" chest superbly.
Wish the matching salopette (bib pants) were still available. I'd snatch them up in a heartbeat.
Built like a tank. Extremely well constructed, with features galore. Tested in a major 2016 Northern California storm and kept me warm and dry as a bone. As another reviewer, love the wrist gaskets that prevent splashback in any outdoor storm condition activity, not the least of which being a maritime endeavor. The hood, which is stored underneath the collar, works great in tandem with the high-necked collar at keeping the elements out—and without much obstructing your line of sight. The jacket is bulky, but not cumbersome. Removing the zip-on inner fleece vest decreases the bulk noticeably.
Only one serious design flaw: The main (front) zipper. Two pull tabs with a very narrow margin of error must be precision lined up in order to insert the zipper tab all the way through to the zipper stop. Picture doing this with two hands: Left hand holds the zipper tab insert. Right hand lines up the two zipper tabs, while pressing down flush with the zipper stop. A third hand tries to keep the constantly moving zipper tabs in alignment. The fourth hand is holding the jacket front closed. A fifth hand is needed to actually pull the zipper up. This is probably why STP is blowing out a 250 dollar jacket for 37 dollars and change. BTW, zipper itself works great once you get it started. All other zippers (pockets, etc.) are just fine.
Otherwise, very pleased with this jacket, which will no doubt last a lifetime. The zipper may not last, however, by all the extra mechanical wear trying to get the zipper to line up, then finally zipped.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Several sizes too smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Washington State on Friday, November 6, 2015Ordered XXL and it might fit a person that takes a large size. I felt felt Sierra Trading Post misrepresented as being a XXL and then charged me $10 to return it. I used to be a good customer to Sierra.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Off-Shore Foul Weathers for Sailing at insane high value.Reviewed by Vincent from the Coast from Sonoma, CA on Sunday, October 25, 2015First off STP needs a Sailing Category. This Tasmania Jacket is a featured up off-shore Foul Weather sailing jacket. Seems to be a copy of a Henry Lloyd off-shore jacket. It even has gasketed pockets for a lifeline chest harness.
The jacket with the liner is pretty bulky, but in heavy weather and spray it will keep you warm and dry. Large zipper, big flaps for pockets and front zip, lots of velcro keep a good seal. The Entrant material breathes very well and the Kevlar wear patches are in the right places.
One awesome feature is the wrist gaskets which have neoprene cuffs inside the sleeve. These keep water out when handling soaked lines.
The matching salopette (bib pants) are great too.
I'm sure there are uses for this Jacket beyond sailing, but it is very well suited for the purpose it was made. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. What I was looking for!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Weston house from Massachusetts on Thursday, October 22, 2015I have not given this a lot of testing yet but soon they will go through the ringer. This jacket seems to run just little on the big side but it work for me because it back it easier to wear layres. I was surprised at how breathable it was for being waterproof.
Great buy...
