1.0 out of 5 stars. No dragVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from NY on Sunday, September 25, 2016It looked new when I opened the box but the drag does not work. There is no drag at all. All the parts seem to be there but after talking to Lamson i am sending it back.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Drag stopped working?Verified Buyer Reviewed by Taylor from Utah on Friday, August 12, 2016Beautiful reel, this is my third fly reel, first Lamson one, and the level of craftsmanship is uncanny at this price. It feels very solid. However, after loading my line and backing and taking the reel on its' first outing, the drag suddenly stopped working. At all drag settings on the dial, there is no drag resistance. Also, the spool kind of lugs around the center shaft like a bad hub on a bike wheel. I'm sure the two issues are related. My last reel was an Okuma SLV and abused the thing, it never had issues like this, especially right out of the box! Hoping this is just a manufacturing fluke and will get it exchanged for a working model.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Reel at Exceptional STP PriceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Alaska on Thursday, April 7, 2016My 3rd Guru - 3/4 wt; 5/6 wt; 7/8 wt. All have superb drag and superior machining and finish. Light weight, but still enough ounces to balance anything but the lightest rods. Models 1.5 and 2.0 have proven themselves here in the north and I'm looking forward to testing my new Model 3.0 as soon as the sockeye start running here in Alaska.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Lamson Guru 3Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Alaska on Tuesday, March 29, 2016My third Guru. Excellent workmanship, great drag, really good aesthetics. Strong reel. Easy spool switch-out. Super price from STP. Note: Some users have complained that switching the retrieve from Left hand to Right hand results in the spool unscrewing from the axle when reeling-in line. This results from an improper seating of the clutch, after flipping it. It's easy to do correctly - just pay attention. Carelessness will result in malfunction.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent reelVerified Buyer Reviewed by Crazyflyfishlady from Illinois on Monday, March 14, 2016This is my 4th Lamson reel and it lived up to the Lamson reputation as some of the best flyfishing reels made. Bought the #3 for 7/8 weight light salt, and small mouth. Just got back from Florida's gulf coast. Reel performed beautifully. Great value.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great ReelVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Nebraska on Monday, March 7, 2016I matched it with my TFO 8wt rod and caught a couple 8 - 10 pound carp on it this past weekend. The drag is very smooth and when one of the carp made a 150 foot run, I was able to add drag and stop him in his tracks. It was at a great price from STP.
