We live in the dessert mountains so we need rugged shoes to protect us from cactus's and also offer breath-ability (it's warm here!). These shoes are perfect. We do a lot of hiking and outdoor activities with our kids. Even through it's the dessert, it's a huge plus to have these be water shoes! Grippy and perfect during monsoon season when we still want to be active. The shoes have two insoles. One can be removed to give you extra growing time. We plan on passing these down to his sister and I'm sure they will still be in good shape by then.

They also have an extra insole that can be removed, effectively enlarging the shoe by a half size.
