4.0 out of 5 stars. Good quality, but sized for fashionReviewed by Hondo from Northern Virginia on Sunday, November 1, 2015This is a really nice quality jacked with a light-weight microfleece lining. But I am continually disappointed by the turn manufacturers of outdoor equipment have made in the past five to seven years to manufacture outerwear that seems to be more oriented towards the "urban scene" that real outdoor wear. This relates specifically to the sizing of the outwear, that seems to be directed towards a member of the pop band "One Direction" than a "regular fit" piece of outwear that could be used as an outer shell in layering. This is NOT a jacket that would support layering underneath. It's just cut too close in the chest and arms. Unfortunately, Timberland and STP do not make any distinction over whether an item is "fashion" or "real outdoors", so it's a dice roll when ordering. As I have mentioned in other reviews, the best rule of thumb in this instance is to follow men's shirt sizing. I would rate this as somewhere between "regular" and "fitted" in terms of shirt size. I really dislike the tighter sleeves, but am opting to keep it anyway because it is a jacket, and I don't expect to layer in it.
I look forward to the day when the outdoor industry finally gets away from following every fashion craze to sell outdoor gear to every cross section of society. If they choose to continue doing that, I really think they should identify their gear as either "urban cut" or "backcountry", or some other distinction like that. I think this "fitted" gear craze is really ridiculous, and some of the fitted gear is downright uncomfortable and impossible to layer, definitely decreasing its functionality.
