They were primarily purchased for hiking and outdoor activities. The shirts are very soft, great at wicking moisture, very odor resistant, and seem very durable. I have worn the shirts on several hiking trips while carrying a pack, and they seem to be holding up very well. These shirts run small so be sure and check the Icebreaker sizing chart for your chest size. I am 6'2" and weigh 220 lbs. with a 46" chest. I had to order an XXL, but they fit in a nice relaxing manner. There has been no shrinkage after wearing the shirts. Be sure to follow the washing instructions and hang them to dry rather than putting them in the dryer. They dry very quickly. These shirts were a smoking good deal for a wool blend Icebreaker product and have done an outstanding job for my outdoor venues thus far. I believe I paid $37 each with one coupon code.
