Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Very Comfortable for Walking on Concrete

I have extremely painful metatarsalalgia (pain under the ball of my feet), and I've tried everything. These are the most cushioned shoes I've ever found. I did not use my custom orthotic with them since it made them overly tight. I did put a metatarsal pad on the thin insole they came with and so far they are great.

As another reviewed mentioned the "speed laces" they come with make an already narrow shoe even tighter. The manufacturer includes an alternate pair of traditional laces, and I use those and even cut the elastic bands that went over the top of the shoes in order to accommodate my wide feet. I was glad this worked since some of the Hokas are so narrow I can't even try them on.

One more thing, I like the trail model even though I don't use them for hiking because they feel secure on wet surfaces.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Hoka's are the best

These are my fifth pair of Hoka's and I love them. I previously wore Brooks Adrenaline and switched to these a little over a year ago after reading about the cushioned sole and how it helped with hip and knee pain. They are the most comfortable running shoe for me. They all run a little different in fit but most are fairly true to size. I wear 8 1/2 shoe & usually get 9 in running shoes. The 9 in Hoka's fit me best. I'm not a big fan of the tieless shoe laces so I have switched a couple of pairs to regular laces. Some people complain that the laces don't stay tied but I don't find that to be true
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Not the shoe for me

Unfortunately, I found this shoe rubbed just below my ankles and that part of the shoe was very stiff. I returned them.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Great AT FIRST, and then...

I thought these shoes would save my knees and keep me running for years. At first, I didn't know how I lived and ran without them. I told everyone to buy a pair. It's 7 months later now. 1. The shoes tore within the first month. 2. The padding broke down within the first 2-3 months. 3. Once the padding breaks down, you're left with on boat of a shoe that is very stiff. I took them on a run in February, and on the way back, they hurt my feet so much I took them off and walked two miles in the snow. 4. I am now seeing a doctor due to foot damage in these shoes after the padding broke down. What I thought was the best shoe I ever purchased turned out to be the WORST shoe I've ever worn--ever. I am one of 6 people I know who have had this experience. I paid full price for these horrible shoes.

Very stable and cushy for my flat feet. Didn't give 5 stars because of the color I had to buy. Haha. Would buy these again.

Cushioning is key for my old knees and these shoes have that in spades. Two thumbs up.
