2nds. A multi-use boot that's ideal for three-season use, Scarpa Triolet mountaineering boots are ready to hike, climb, scramble, approach, ascend and descend. They're comfortable when packing heavy loads, protective in scree, are semi-auto crampon compatible, stiff enough to kick steps, work well in steep snow and are agile enough to add confidence to foot placement in demanding spots.

I wear a size 9 street shoe and normally see up by .5 for hiking boots. Bought the 42 and it was a perfect fit for my wide, high volume feet. So good there.
The vibram sole is excellent for alpine climbing. I've had the opportunity to use them on "The Guides Route" up Mt Crested Butte (mostly class 3, 4, with a few low class 5 moves. They edged well and added confidence in a few situations. And they performed well on the approach and easier climbing.
At the price I bought them for on STP (seconds, and on sale), I felt I had made up ground on some other not-so-good I Net purchases. Highly recomend. -
