There is enough strapping so that my feet fit securely without a lot of flip-flopping. The wedge and soles are light and provide just the right cushioning,...not clunky at all! I wear a size 9 so I ordered the 40. My foot was just at the edges of the foot bed so returned them for a 41, which turned out perfectly. These will definitely be one of my go-to sandels for the summer
