Very differently constructed than SmartWool socks, which I've grown used to. the weave up the calf is loose - it's a thick sock, and I wonder if it will sag over time. It's the exact same threads into the foot area, but a tighter weave, making the socks thicker down there. They've been wearing them around town and I imagine they'll be great on the slopes but I do wonder if they'll hold up well over a season. Very likely so.

I don't snowboard, but DO always have issues keeping my feet warm in the house, or outside in cold weather, so when I am able to find something comfortable in a knee high that reaches my knees, doesn't cut off circulation AND keeps my feet consistently warm, I am happy!

They also have a looser weave than Smartwools. I'm looking for warmth in addition to cuteness in a ski sock. STP's Overview makes them sound like they are mostly merino wool but Specs and label on socks tell different story. I'll rate as 3 stars for what I believe is low warmth and for misleading Overview. I returned. They may be fine for wearing to school or walking the dog.

These are not thin/flimsy but will provide a nice cushion under ski boats. The colors were not as bright as I thought based on the photo but the pink design is nice. Very pleased with this purchase.
