The high crown fits my larger female head perfectly and it looks very attractive. I ordered a L in black. The bill is right size to keep rain or sun off my face. I really wanted a rain hat, but the solid fabric crown rolls back to provide a vented hat for hot temperatures and there is a chin strap for windy days, too. The quality of the material and construction is typical OR and I am hoping it will last a long time. STP shipped fast and packed the hat perfectly!

Once you pull back the waterproof crown and tuck it into the pouch made for it in the crown (which is very clever) the amount of room for the circumference decreases. So it fits me too tightly when the crown is tucked away--which is a bummer because there isn't a larger size.
