This pair looks like they will need some breaking in. Just a little stiff, think they just need to be hiked in a bit. The build quality of these boots is awesome. I highly recommend.

No kidding and I don't mean maybe! Like 3X wide!! Also, dry rotted leather (on top toe of left boot) When i called to see if they were 2nds or was STP just messing with me. Surprisingly customer service didn't seem to care. No answers available, "youre welcome to return them if you want" no shipping discount. **note this is unusual for STP customer service.

I usually wear a 8.5 Wide in New Balance, 9.5 in Teva, and a 9 Wide in most other brands. I bought an 8 Wide in these. My initial impression is that they are a good "middle" boot: heavier and stiffer than typical fast hikers, but lighter and less stiff than loaded hiking boots. I bought them for winter use so it will be at least a month before I put any time into them, but I'll update once I hit the trails a bit.
