4.0 out of 5 stars. Hiking boots of the futureVerified Buyer Reviewed by Sven the Red from Maine on Thursday, November 3, 2016These boots feel like a cross between a running shoe, a burly hiking boot, and a lightweight low cut hiking shoe. The rigidity of the sole is a nice balance of stiffness with flex in just the right place. They are shockingly light without sacrificing support. They are a tall boot, but not uncomfortable, and there is tremendous ankle support. The sole has great traction, including bomber grip on exposed granite after a rain and covered with oak leaves (New Englanders, you know what I am talking about). The leather seems to be thick enough, yet is quite supple and flexible. The reason that it didn't get five stars is that you can feel rocks and roots underfoot more than I would like. My second hike involved some rocky trail segments and steep descents, and the soles of my feet were tender the next day. I also don't see these lasting several years like the heavy, all leather backpacking boots of yesteryear. One last plus: The break in period is next to zero. I put in a little over five miles on rough terrain with a 50 pound pack (my three year old toddler) and not one hot spot or blister. Welcome to the future of hiking boots!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great hiking bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Matmar from NJ on Tuesday, May 3, 2016I've owned over a dozen pairs of Vasque boots over the past 35 years and the Eriksson Gore-Tex hiking boots are one of the best. I am an avid hiker and backpacker, plus a remodeling contractor who wears hiking boots every day to work. After a day and a half of break in they fit as good as any pair I have ever owned. Great product at a great price from Sierra Trading Post.

4.0 out of 5 stars. They are for sure a 1/2 size to largeVerified Buyer Reviewed by rodnchance from South Idaho on Wednesday, April 27, 2016I really like the look and the obvious sturdiness and they look like they are going to be a tough boot. Sole is nice and thick so I do not have to think about the rocks bruising my feet. I had to purchase a cushioned liner to make the boot fit better or else this would be a five star rating.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Too SmallReviewed by Edward from Maryland on Friday, April 22, 2016These boots seem to be of high quality and I loved the look/style of the boots. I normally wear a size 9 or 9.5 depending on the manufacturer but I followed the advice of some of the reviews that said they run big so I bought the size 9W. Unfortunately for me they did not run big and my toes were rubbing the front of the boot. Should have gone with the 9.5. When I went to exchange for the 9.5 they were sold out so I exchanged them for Alico Belluno hiking boots. Haven't received these yet but they had good reviews and hopefully they will fit perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars. My New Favorite Boots!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Northern Minnesota on Wednesday, April 13, 2016I bought my first pair of Vasque Boots 7 years ago and finally wore them out this year. I knew when I started to search for boots that I was going to buy Vasques again. I have had these boots two weeks and I love them. I have walked about 30 miles in time so far and I can tell you the following things: 1.) They have lots of support (especially with the addition of SuperFeet Green insoles) for my flat feet. 2.) They are very water poof. 3.) These are really rugged and stiff boots so the break-in is going to be significant. 4.) These boots are grippy on rocks and have nice lugs for mud. 5.) I'm really hard on footwear and this pair of boots feels like it's going to last.

5.0 out of 5 stars. These boots rock!Verified Buyer Reviewed by PrimeC from Pittsburgh on Tuesday, March 15, 2016I have worn them to work the past two weeks to break them in before I hike. They look great and fit nice. A lot of people say order down at least a size. I'd say they run a half size big.

4.0 out of 5 stars. GreatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Blackthorn from Missouri on Saturday, February 20, 2016Great boot. Size is true. The only bad part of the boot is the 5th eyelets. They tend to bend.

4.0 out of 5 stars. good traction, watertight, needs better lacingReviewed by dogwalker from Michigan on Friday, February 19, 2016I agree with so many other reviewers about the nice traction. As well as not such great eyelets. I find lacing them is rather tedious as the metal is awkwardly placed and not as sturdy as I would like. The design is nice however as to be easy to clean and is soundly waterproof.
It's been awhile since I had a pair of Vasque boots, these fit well for my wide feet.
