I made the mistake of not wearing thick socks my first day wearing them and the boots rubbed my legs so much that I still have welts in 4 places 4 days later, after only a couple of hours of wear.

Classy boots!Reviewed by Bargain hunter from Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, January 16, 2016I have a narrow foot, and these fit nicely with just a basic sock in a medium width, so not sure they would accommodate wider feet. I bought my usual 8.5, and they are very comfortable. Although heels can sometimes be uncomfortable, I don't even notice the heel. Some reviewers mentioned the heel being a little unstable, and I did notice that at first. But I followed the suggestion to walk towards the inside of the boot, and once I began doing so, it became very natural and the shoe felt perfectly stable. I wore these all day at work, on my feet, and they still felt great when I returned home. I bought the burgundy color, which is almost a deep, rich brown, and they are beautiful. The ruching on my boots looks fine, just like the picture. These are a quality pair of boots that can be worn for dress or casual. I highly recommend them!

I exchanged it hoping it was just one defective pair. Now I will be returning the second pair. It seems the stitching on the "drapes" were made by a blind person - going into different directions, creating creases and crevices, bunching up, creating bumps at the edges that pinch into the leg Two boots are looking differently and ugly up close. These boots are probably "seconds" or "thirds" that did not pass quality control to go into the stores. Sierra did not advertise them as that. Shame.

Two shoes are different - and defectiveReviewed by Anonymous from MA on Tuesday, December 22, 2015They are nice looking, and one fits very well (I took the advice and ordered 1/2 size larger then usual). However the second one looks very different in the way the leather draped around the boot - noticeably very different. This draped leather stitched very carelessly around the front and the back, creating unpleasantly looking broken crease on the front (very different from another boot), and the deep pinching crease on the back that makes the boot not only bad looking but also unwearable. The crease is stitched so it bunches up and pressed into the leg above the ankle. I am exchanging the pair now for the same one in the hope that I just got a defective pair. I'll see if another pair will be better. Unfortunately now STP does not have it in the color I ordered.

The flannel lining in one was raveling a little near the zipper, but the lowered close-out price and the overall comfort and how nicely the work with tights or pants made them worth the purchase. They fit slim but true-to-size on me, I'm a 7.5 and ordered a 7.5. They have the benefit of giving me a slim-looking ankle, which is nice since my real ankles are sort of on the thick side.

I had to return my boots for a size 10. So I would size up 1/2 size. I am happy with the quality and they are very comfortable to wear....just a good classic ankle boot that can be worn with a variety of outfits.
