The blade is SHARP, and there is no guard, so wash with caution, but overall very happy and have used it almost everyday since I got it. It's more convenient than a knife for smaller items. I also used it to slice carrots and cucumbers for sushi, worked like a dream.

Although it's called mini, it's definitely not as small has i expected, you could use it to slice a reular size tomato or potato.

If you only use this for your garlic and ginger it is worth it for the price. STP usually won't ship blades to NY state, but this was not an issue.

I used it for onions, radishes, yellow squash, zucchini, and shallots, and it finely sliced each one. DO USE THE GUARD, because this mandoline is extremely sharp . (I learned that when I sliced a fine piece of thumb before using the guard.) It is small, so don't expect a full size mandoline, but it served me well and l love having "ribbons" and finely sliced veggies. This does the trick

It's smaller than you might think it is (the size of a serving spoon). Yet this is one of my favorite gadgets. When I need to slice, I grab this over a knife or my other mandolin. The clean up is simple, and slices beautifully. Love this!!!

It is sharp.
I used it for potatoes. The guide was pretty useless until the potato was almost gone. I did use it at the end as I like my fingers.
It cuts the size of thin chips.
4 stars is because I do not think it will last long. It is just going to be fun to use for a while.
