3.0 out of 5 stars. Ok prepackaged mealsVerified Buyer Reviewed by RAM from CA on Sunday, November 13, 2016I purchased the Vegetarian Meal pack as well. This Meal pack contained the exact same Breakfast, Desert and Lunch items. the only thing that was different was their 3 dinner packages that contained meat products/by products. So I'm giving it the same 3 star rating.
I didn't expect gourmet food and for the convenience it worked well. Since freeze dried pre-packaged meals tend to be expensive, this is a good way to sample on a budget. Other than the breakfast meals & mashed potatoes everything else was good. Deserts were yummy... cheesecake and mouse was more like a thick pudding. Apple cobbler was just Yummy. LOL As for breakfast, I ended up donating my breakfast meals to other hikers (powdered milk tasted weird-plain granola would have been better). I would not purchase this package again. I would just purchase the meals that I liked. **To be fair, I don't like any other brand of "instant" mashed potatoes -
5.0 out of 5 stars. GreatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Ohio on Tuesday, August 9, 2016I couldn't have been happier with this product. I'm a larger guy and we were backpacking in the Wind River Range in Wyoming and I bought 3 meal packs for 6 of us. They kept us all happy for the 3 days we were splitting them. They were easy to make, even at elevation, and tasted great.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Both good and badVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Wisconsin on Monday, August 8, 2016The dessert and granola were amazing! The main dishes were not all that great.

5.0 out of 5 stars. great flavor!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Woody from Durango, CO on Saturday, August 6, 2016I bought this product twice, once for a paddling adventure at Lake Powell and once for a SW Colorado backpacking trip. The taste, packaging and weight are all awesome. My only small complaint would be that the apple dessert and the biscuits and gravy require extra pots. I try to only bring the Jet boil to save weight and space. I would definitely buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Aweosme meals.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Jore07 from Montana on Thursday, July 21, 2016All meals were good! We skipped a couple meals that require extra cooking but the dinners and sides were great. All packages had a lot of time left before the experation date and were fully sealed. I'll be sticking with the Backpackers Pantry brand.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great for backpackingReviewed by Anonymous from Arizona on Monday, July 18, 2016I never go backpacking without this stuff, and finding it on clearance here makes it even better. Granted everyone's taste buds are different, these kinds of meals are lightweight and tasty enough to get me through my multi-day trips.
This box allowed me to try various flavors and recipes to know which meals I like more than others. It includes a little bit of everything. Well worth the price (which can't be beat with 59% off here). -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Easy to make and tasty - not articicalVerified Buyer Reviewed by Guilford hiker from Connecticut on Monday, July 11, 2016I have enjoyed these meals on a recent canoeing trip. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the mocha mousse dessert pouch was damaged in shipping and the chocolate powered coated the other bags in the set.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Pretty good, could be betterVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Wisconsin on Friday, June 24, 20164/5 stars because no breakfast items, pretty good over-all bundle though. Some require more than just simply adding water, like the biscuits and gravy. The chocolate mousse turns out just okay, but has the sugars that your body needs so it is more utilitarian than enjoyable. Large serving sizes - definitely enough for two people. But seriously, some breakfast items would be most greatly appreciated.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Decent mealsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Norcal hiker from Northern California on Wednesday, June 22, 2016Even though this is listed as a closeout product, it was definitely what I was looking for. A great Price at a great time as I had a weeks notice to prepare a menu for an over night trip for me and my son on his first BSA backpacking trip. The meals were good, VERY filling, as an acquaintance stated the "two" person meals were really big enough for one, (but this acquaintance is a big eater...), they were light weight as needed. We separated the batch into A La cart and picked what we wanted. The only down side is that I did not read the instructions well enough before the trip to see that some items require additional cooking...
I definitely recommend this product and hope to see more flavors available at Sierra Trading Post

4.0 out of 5 stars. Freeze-dried newbieReviewed by Jinne from Nebraska on Friday, June 17, 2016I read the reviews here, and most were spot-on. The packing box indicates that the date of manufacture is Sept 2015. I didn't realize that some required cooking (I was hoping that they were all rehydrate-only). 4 bags expire in 2018, 7 expire in 2022, one was unlabeled.

- granola w/blueberries: 9/22/22
-Mexican rice:no date to be found, yikes
