The 34" are huge...maybe more like a 36". Literally. I know men's waist sizes can vary...especially for those who are kind of "in between." But these are above average larger than normal. I should have gone down to 32". Other than that, these shorts are very, very nice. But definitely go down in size...especially if you are hesitant as to which size to choose.
