5.0 out of 5 stars. Beautiful, quality boots but size runs small
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Atlanta worker from Atlanta on Wednesday, January 13, 2016
These look like nice quality boots, but the size didn't work for me. In some shoes, I wear medium width, but in others I need a wide width. These were definitely too narrow. My foot felt scrunched inside the shoe. On a positive note, the calf area was generous without being too big. I have big calves and most boots don't work for me. I wouldn't call these exactly a wide calf, but they were wider than "average" boots, so it had just enough extra circumference to be comfortable. The height of the shaft was just a bit too tall for my 5-2 height. The boots hit a little too close to my knees to be comfortable. I wish they worked for me, but the shoe was not quite wide enough and the shaft was just a little too tall for me. The quality and construction were nice. If they fit better, it would be very much worth the very reasonable price offered on STP.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice boots

Comfortable, good looking and classy. Little bit wide but ok
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Huge calf width

These boots are beautifully made, but the calf width is enormous. I thought with the elastic insert, it would fit snug. I'm going to see if a shoe repair, might be able to remove the elastic somehow, because that is the only way they'll fit. I've purchased tall black Timberland boots for the past 10 years and have never had this problem. My legs are not skinny.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Bad fit

Not only did these boots fit like a 7 (I ordered an 8), but they were awfully narrow. At first I considered exchanging them for a bigger size, but I don't think that would have made a difference width-wise. Therefore, I decided against the hassle of most likely having to return them a second time. The calf was also way to loose, considering the tight fit in the foot and ankle. Just an odd fit.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Solid boot, good buy

As a runner and weight lifter, it's always a big question whether boots will fit over my 17" calves. These do fit fine and comfortably so. They're not too tight and the gore provides some give for total mobility. They're well made, and while the forefoot was a little snug out of the box, I was still able to wear them with wool socks. Over time, I am confident they'll give a bit and fit like a glove. They will get a lot of use for the rest of this winter.

About Timberland

The Timberland footwear brand was officially launched in 1973, more than two decades after founder Nathan Swartz bought an interest in an established shoe company. Eight years earlier, the Swartz family had introduced injection-molding technology to the footwear industry. Today, this revolutionary manufacturing process is still being used to fuse the soles and uppers of Timberland boots without stitching, a process that allows for truly waterproof boots. Over the years, Timberland shoes and boots have continued to advance, incorporating modern features like Active Comfort Technology to provide a balance of cushioning, support and climate control. In 2008, Timberland also became the first footwear company to commercialize the use of rubber from recycled tires.
