  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Solid Indoor Cross Trainer
Reviewed by CK from Detroit, MI on Friday, November 18, 2016
I go through roughly a pair of workout shoes a year, approximately 5 times a week at the gym doing various activities from a 75 minute high intensity cardio/weight class through traditional weight lifting, elliptical, cross fit type workouts and short distance running (1-2 miles). Overall they are a solid shoe and well build (for indoor use). I would say these are a little on the lower side regarding cushion, closer to a minimalist shoe than a full fledged running shoe. I'm not a great runner to begin with and I'm sure my form is awful, but they are not super comfortable for running, however they more than do the job for everything else. They are lightweight and look cool. I'm an Asics fan.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable, but not a good cross-training shoe...
Reviewed by Anonymous from Utah on Sunday, July 3, 2016
Bought this shoe ten days ago, and on my first workout wearing the shoes (5 days after arrival), the shoes couldn't handle simple rope climbs. Not great for cross-functional training. If you're strolling on solid pavement or wearing them about town, they'll perform fine. The biggest flaw in the shoes is the arch where it's made of a very lightweight foam (almost feels like packing peanuts). The arches completely wore out from one workout (over 1 inch groove in the arch of the shoe). Training shoe, no!!!!! Casual shoe that's comfortable, yes!!! I've provided feedback to the Product team at Asics, although I don't think they care by the form-letter response I received. Disappointed in the quality of the shoe as I've come to expect more from Asics. I'll consider running shoes from Asics in the future, but for a cross training shoe, this is not a durable choice.

Posted the same review on the Asics website, and they responded with the message below. Just an attempt to keep bad press from their doorstep instead of doing something to potentially fix the shoe in the future. Hopefully this is helpful to someone along the way.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable Shoes at Gym
Reviewed by brannon32 from Vacaville, Ca. on Sunday, April 3, 2016
These were nice because they allowed me to do multiple activities at the gym or just take the dog on a walk. Unfortunately, the heel started to wear through pretty quickly. I still use them, but have to start thinking about buying a new pair of shoes because all the padding in the heel is wearing away quickly.
