I prefer trail running, and, living in the Pacific NW, that's a wet and muddy proposition for half the year. These shoes do a great job of providing protection against the elements, and leave room for warm socks.
I need stability shoes, and use these with 3rd party insoles (as I do with all my running shoes.).
