1.0 out of 5 stars. SADLY GOT A MANUFACTURER'S SECOND FROM SIERRATRADINGPOSTReviewed by johnnyjohnny from lake balboa calif on Tuesday, February 23, 2016i'd love to rate these boots a 5 star, but sadly after wearing a few days and noticing the left one didn't feel right, i brought them into a hiking store to see what they thought and they laughed. immediately they saw the first steel lace holder on the left shoe, right side, was about 3/4" inch too far forward...pulling on the right side of that boot, which was exactly where it was too tight on me. unfortunately i've gotten a few too many of these manufacturer seconds or defects from sierratradingpost. their policy of NOT refunding original shipping costs even with defects on items that never should have been sold, add up. prices are good, shipping fast, and i wouldn't mind even running around returning all the defective merchandise, but to be charged shipping for it is really an insult. likely my last purchase from these guys...for that specific reason. as for the zamberlan boot, i'd like to rate them higher but can only judge them on the pair i received, and as well as they are otherwise built or feel, and look, this is really an absurd defect...like putting the steering wheel of a car in the middle rather than on the left in the u.s., or right in britain.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Best boots of all timeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Nc on Thursday, February 18, 2016Look and feel great, seem to be solidly built. Mine are brand new so who knows, but I'm thrilled with these boots.

4.0 out of 5 stars. More narrow than the Vioz but excellent build qualityReviewed by Postal Kitten from Central Pa. on Friday, January 29, 2016I so wanted this boot to fit but unfortunately the sizing is a bit on the narrow size than the Vioz or Steep. This means the toe box won't fit wider feet that well. Overall build quality is Zamberlan excellent. I had to send mine back because they were too narrow.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Top Notch hiking bootVerified Buyer Reviewed by Volvoguy from Kansas on Thursday, January 21, 2016First let me say, this is my first "real" pair of hiking boots. I wanted something more sturdy than a soft shoe, and this fits the bill very well. I tried hiking last year in a pair of La Sportiva wildcats after reading some reviews on them. Nice comfortable shoe, but more of an athletic style shoe than a real hiking shoe. (I'm not an ultra-lighter) The Sportiva's are really comfortable, but are just not supportive enough when hiking with an overnight load.
These Zamberlan's were very comfortable right out of the box; a little stiff, but that can be expected from a full leather boot. As for sizing, I am typically a size 12.5, and I have a slightly wide foot. I ordered the size 13 to have room for thicker socks and it fits perfectly. The factory insole is actually quite good in these boots, but I will probably replace them with a green Superfeet insole before any real hiking. The lacing system really works well too; it's very easy to lace up, and the laces really stay in place. These are very high quality boots.
I haven't done any hiking in them quite yet. I've been wearing them to work for about a week now just to break them in a bit. No fatigue at all after a 12 hour day on my feet. I'll be trying them out on some day hikes next week at on some of the trails at Cuyamaco Rancho State park. (SoCal) I feel confident these will be great boots for hiking with a 35 pound load. (My typical weekend load for a 2-3 day hike) -
5.0 out of 5 stars. One of the Very BestReviewed by Rog the Boot Nut from Englewood, Colorado on Tuesday, January 12, 2016Terrific boots! Beautifully made, functional, and comfortable. Deep heel cup really locks in your foot. The sole is a great design that provides good traction on most surfaces and looks very durable. This is a stunning looking boot as well, pictures don't really do them justice. Liked mine so much, ended up buying two pairs. Might be the best boot Zamberlan ever made, and they won't be making any more. Get 'em while they last.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Tom from CT on Saturday, January 2, 2016These are my first hiking boots, so I have nothing to compare them to. Although I did read a lot of other reviews from other boots. That being said, these are really nice boots. I was concerned that they might be difficult to pull on without the tab on back of the boot, but they open really wide and my feet just slide in. They lace up really nice too, without much pressure they tighten easily. Quality boots and I waited for the price to go down at STP. I later found out I could have bought a similar Zamberlan boot locally for $290, so my savings were huge.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Bullet ProofVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hiking Jarhead from California on Thursday, December 31, 2015Great backpacking boot. Very stiff sole and good ankle support. They will need a few trips to totally break in though.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Beautiful BootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by LA/MB from Los Angeles on Wednesday, December 9, 2015These Zamberlan boots are made in Italy, so as one would expect, they're a pleasure to wear. Comfortable right out of the box, wide enough in the toe box, they're my favorite boots right now.
Why can't Americans make boots this nice for a reasonable price?
