If you are a true size 6, purchase the medium. There is no wiggle room in the middle if you are overweight.
I don't recommend this style for overweight gals, sorry. The style just would not look right for you. I had them professionally hemmed, and this took out part of the "bell" shape at the bottom, however, they still look very sharp! The price for what you get is quite superb! And, I am a very picky shopper! Classy pants, truly. Thanks STP. -

I ordered the M, and I can get into them, but they are at their limit for my athletic thighs and round bottom. They are also around 5 inches too long! Whatthe...? So this brand's designer expects a medium sized woman to be almost 6 ft tall, weigh less than 135, hips less than 35" (mine are 35, and it's snug) and have the legs of a chicken for her height. I'm going to hem the extra inches off the pants and then I will be able to wear/walk in them. They're beautiful, but designed poorly for real women. Quality seems great, but whereas I haven't been able to wear them, I don't know how they'll hold up. Only buy if you're willing to invest in a good hemming or look like a model...
