The waistband lies flat with a hidden elastic that could be used to adjust the waist if needed. The fabric is super stretchy and the white fabric is light, but not see through. It has just the right amount of compression. I can tuck 2 tennis underneath. There is no slip pocket anywhere so no extra bulky fabric around the waist.
