About VivoBarefoot Vivobarefoot Tigray Shoes - Leather, Minimalist (For Men)

Closeouts. Naturally gorgeous Ethiopian leather in a minimalist design? That's not something you hear every day -- and that's exactly what's so amazing about Vivobarefoot's Tigray shoes. The company teamed up with humanitarian group Soul of Africa to produce these stunning shoes that have a supple Ethiopian leather upper and a thin, barefoot-worthy sole for ultimate proprioceptive feedback.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Everyday Shoes

Sizing is definitely different for vivobarefoot. I wear between a size 10-10.5 for most shoes and got size 42 in these. They fit great and I actually probably could wear a 41, but I wear theme as slip on shoes so I like some extra room. The leather is super comfortable, I wear these barefoot. The stitching on one shoe seems to have not been tied off properly, but it shouldn't be difficult for me to fix. Other then that the build quality seems great. Highly recommended.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great shoes! (Just order a size down)

Finally got the replacement after sending the first two pairs back because they were too big. I have now worn them and they are very comfortable. This is incredible considering how thin the sole is. I'm very impressed.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Stylish, comfortable and look to be high quality. Order one Size down.

Great pair of shoes, but be sure to order one size down. I have had to send two pairs back due to sizing issues. I wear a Nike size 10.5 and would recommend going with a 43 (U.S. size 9).

Got these, but was not able to wear them due to size problems. As others have said, disregard the directions to get the next size up. Order your regular size or go to a website that has the Vivobarefoot size calculator. It allows you to put in the size you wear in certain brands and then gives you your Vivobarefoot size. I will repost once I receive the exchanged size. I usually wear a 10.5 and ordered the 45.

I can't review the quality, only the fit. The descriptions said to order a size up if you are a half size. I disagree. You should order down. My feet were swimming in them. I couldn't keep them and the next size down was sold out. This is a bummer, but I really wanted these.

About VivoBarefoot

Having suffered from several foot injuries during his tennis career, Tim Brennan eventually decided that his conventional athletic shoes were to blame and set about creating his own. By the time he officially launched VivoBarefoot shoes in 2004, Brennan had already spent five years on research and development, which included input from sixth generation shoemaker Galahad Clark. At the time, VivoBarefoot running shoes and tennis shoes were the first minimalist athletic shoes engineered with ultra-thin, puncture-resistant soles designed to offer lightweight shock absorption and sensory feedback. The concept took off, and minimalist footwear has been gaining momentum ever since. Today, VivoBarefoot shoes are available in more than 50 different models, from trail running shoes to chukkas. Vivo the revolution.
