I do wish they could be separated, because I worry about the cable they come on becoming rusty from washing. But I will cut them apart if that occurs. I do not think they would do well in the dishwasher.

I didn't realize they were reindeer, I just notices the different patterns in the spoon section. Poking the reindeer right through the eye, to me, to hang them is somewhat gruesome. While I am prone to look at pictures of autopsies (academically looking for outcomes of mechanism of injury as a former first responder), I don't really want that kind of zombie-itis in my kitchen while cooking. Especially on the rare occasion I bake; I'd rather feel like Mary Poppins, not a vampire. While I'm keeping them - look closely - do you really want reindeers hanging in your kitchen suspended by an eye-hook? I still like the design variances in the spoon portion.

I don't know how functional they would have been for baking. im guessing the wide rounded lip would make for a difficult exact measurement. I didn't find out because 5 min after opening they hit the ground and shattered.
