This is the second of these i have bought, the first being well over ten years ago. I was so happy to see STP had them again, as this was my favorite scarf ever in the whole world until i lost it in 2010. So i bought the same pattern again, and was pleased to receive it and find it was like getting an old long lost friend back! The new one was just the same as the old and surprisingly even a wee bit less expensive, which is very rare to find these days - a product that doesnt go up in price and down in quality over a decade of sales.

I use this for everything, from every day casual use to dress-up formal wear, and even for light sports use. I wouldnt do a snow-shoe race in it, but i would, and have, done snow-shoeing around the farm wearing it.

It sheds very, very little, the fringe at the ends doesnt unravel very much, and it cleans up very well. The last one i had was professionally cleaned once in the ten or so years i had it. I was in an auto accident with it once, and got it soaked in blood, and once dried it all came out and left no stain.

Long and short of it is, get one of these and you will not regret it, unless you lose it. Then you'll feel like you lost a part of yourself. When i lost my old one i didnt even consider getting another brand because i just knew it wouldnt measure up. Buy a few colors and you will NOT regret it (i have the burgundy plaid and it is very handsome).

Ciao!

About Johnstons of Elgin

The inherent luxury of pure Scottish cashmere is borne out in every garment that arrives from the legendary mills of Johnstons of Elgin - a centuries-old family firm doing business in the far North of Scotland since 1797. Using the finest cashmere and superfine wools in the world, Johnstons processes its fibers in a rare "vertical mill" system, where all of the dyeing, spinning, weaving and finishing are carefully controlled on site. Johnstons produces a range of cloth, knitwear and home furnishings at this historic plant - products that are probably best known for their irresistible softness to the touch. The secret, Johnstons believes, is in the finishing, a process still enhanced by the super soft, clear water from nearby River Lossie.
