5.0 out of 5 stars. Great featuresVerified Buyer Reviewed by OandPman from Honea Path, SC on Wednesday, May 22, 2019I researched a lot of lightweight waterproof jackets and none have all the features that the Marmot Precip has. Tack on a great price from Sierra and I had to get this. Everything I hoped it would be and extremely lightweight and compact to carry in a day pack.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Solid choiceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Tim from Wyoming on Tuesday, May 21, 2019I'm not sure this is the final word in "breathable" and waterproof jackets, but it provides a good balance between those two goals. The pit zips are certainly a good feature at this price point. The "breathability" of the fabric itself is more suspect. A long and vigorous walk during a muggy day certainly left my arms hotter and wetter than I'd prefer. But compared to other options at this price point, I think this is a solid choice -- the jacket appears well made, light, compact, and seemed to provide good protection. It's ability to fold into its pocket is an excellent feature.

1.0 out of 5 stars. DisappointedVerified Buyer Reviewed by CoLu from Québec on Monday, May 20, 2019Measurements for size are wrong, sleeves size M are too short
Sierra being in the US and me in Canada, the return is very expensive, plus the surprise customs fee of $ 35 Canadian and delivery $ 35 make the deal on the coat was not a deal.
When I tried to get along with the company on the cat, they cut short the discussion.
I'm disappointed with all this, I do it more business with Sierra. -
3.0 out of 5 stars. Tiny arm holes.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Extreme teen hiker. from Asheville, NC on Saturday, May 18, 2019Waterproof and light weight but I can't wear this jacket without getting annoyed due to the tiny arm holes. If you're someone who pulls your jacket sleeves up you won't want to buy this.

4.0 out of 5 stars. light jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Still moving from Alabama on Monday, May 13, 2019It fits over a lightweight fleece hoodie jacket...which helps increase the overall number of pockets....otherwise you just have two pockets. It appears to be made of a similar material as Mtn Hardware rain pants which has held up well for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars. A bit tightVerified Buyer Reviewed by Serendipitous Traveler from USA on Saturday, April 6, 2019Very attractive and light. Looks very well made. I wish it had more pockets inside and out. It really only has the two sealed mesh pockets that are fine for putting my hands in, but I will need to wear something under or over it when I need pockets.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very nice!Verified Buyer Reviewed by aboyandhisdog from Fort Collins, Colorado on Monday, December 17, 2018I have several Marmot pieces and I have always taken a Med. In the Precip, the large fit me much better. The med. was particularly restrictive when bringing my elbows across my chest. Otherwise, the jacket is well made, light weight, and keeps the wind out. I cannot speak to water proofing yet as I've not worn it in the rain. I do wish it had a chest pocket.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Athletic fit in MReviewed by Pascals Wager from NC on Friday, November 9, 2018I often find myself between fits with gear. I’m 5’ 11” 185 athletic build. I went with size M as Marmot tends to run larger in their sizing, versus North Face specifically.
The medium is perfect with a thinner set of base layers or under/dress shirt; anything more substantial would be tight.
This is not goretex and isn’t seal-taped; so it won’t be fully waterproof - that is not my expectation and shouldn’t be yours. But for mild work it does a great job and awesome in wind/bluster.
