The history of Pendleton blankets dates back to the mid-19th century, when a young man named Thomas Kay travelled west to Oregon and opened a mill in Salem. Kay’s grandchildren eventually went on to establish a mill in Pendleton, Oregon, which crafted blankets and robes for American Indians living in the region, including the Nez Perce, Navajo and Hopi nations. By the early 20th century, the Pendleton clothing line was expanded to include suiting and apparel, including the now legendary Pendleton virgin wool shirt. Today, this renowned American brand owns and operates seven manufacturing facilities as well as 75 Pendleton retail stores.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Not as great quality as I would’ve likedReviewed by Dee from Colorado on Sunday, July 5, 2026I was disappointed to find a quality issue as soon as I opened the package. The six towels were secured together with numerous clear plastic tag gun fasteners inserted directly through the fabric. After removing them, I found visible pulls and damage where the fasteners had pierced the towels.
The packaging method itself damaged the towels before they were ever used. For a premium product, I hope Pendleton finds a better way to secure the set without compromising the fabric. -

Beautiful color and fit like a dream. Such a deal! This kind of quality bargain is why I've been buying from STP for more than 20 years.
