2.0 out of 5 stars. does not stand up to the realities of checked baggageReviewed by wombat from CNY on Saturday, May 17, 2014I bought this bag (and a smaller version of the same) before departing on an international sabbatical with my prof husband & family. I chose it because it had decent reviews, stood up on the wheels, and I liked the three handles and the straps across the zipper - key if you are going to send a duffle on an international flight. The unusual green makes them easier to spot on baggage carousels. I was also pleased that it did not smell like I was going to die of chemical exposure if I got my head stuck inside, since i had to return a couple of bags for that reason.
Since flying away in February, this bag and its smaller sibling have been on 17 separate flights during three trips (including an unexpected baggage vacation to Bangkok from Sydney, Australia). The bulk of these have been international, with transfers between planes in many different airports around the world.
After the first two trips, the handle stopped working - fortunately while it was retracted. This is bad -- the bag is pretty large and bulky and difficult to roll without that handle.
The third trip gave it a tear in the "tear resistant" fabric near the wheels, and the cushion on one of the handles delaminated.
The design of the handle in the middle of the bag's face is also a little odd - if you strap it tightly, the zipper pouch pulls open and it feels like the handle may tear the front of the bag off. The lining of the bag is pretty flimsy.
Remarkably, the smaller bag is holding up fine. Are my standards too high that I expect a bag to last longer than a few international trips? I don't think so. Our samsonite hardside is doing great, as is our standard canvas duffle.
I wouldn't recommend these for heavy travel. Packing to drive to grandma's or to move into a dorm? Great. Storage? Probably okay. I am just crossing my fingers that these make it back to the states with their contacts intact at the end of our adventure. Duct tape, anyone? -

4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice BagReviewed by neu from Wi on Wednesday, March 12, 2014This is a very well made bag. Havent used it yes but really like the quality and all the pockets and handles. The wheels don't roll as smoothly as I would like but they do look sturdy.

4.0 out of 5 stars. a functional rolling duffle at a good price pointReviewed by hk from salem,or on Tuesday, March 11, 2014I needed a multi purpose big bag and this suits my needs. Also some of the funky color combinations help with visability when picking up at the baggage line.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great overnight bagReviewed by Anonymous from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA on Monday, December 30, 2013Bought this as a Christmas gift for a family member this year, and was very happy with the quality of the material, sturdy zippers and wheels. Great value for the price as well. And in typical STP fashion, shipping was effortless and hassle-free.
