As an update to previous revue. I have since had the chance to use my knife and I must say holds a decent edge excellent for the price. Last weekend I fillet 50+ crappie with no issue the serrated edge on the back proved to be very useful in helping to save my fillet edge by using the serration edge to start and cut the skin around the ribs on my fillet. In addition I saved 5 fish for the BBQ these I gutted and scaled the serrations were great for scaling. A few swift swipes with the steel and it is ready to go again definitely not disappointed. This will be my with me in the pontoon all the time knife. could do better for a couple hundred US made but that would not ride rapids with me, this is a better choice for me for sure.

Have not had a chance to use it yet but from what I can tell it is fairly sharp out of the box comfortable to hold quality looks good. The blade is just flexible and thin enough I can fillet with it, over all should be a nice addition to my tackle bag. I've never had problems with Buck knives and made in USA for under a hundred bucks I don't think you can go wrong. Shipping was painless and I think I paid around 30 bucks for the knife.

About Buck Knives

For more than 60 years, genuine Buck Knives have offered consistent reliability and durability to outdoorsmen and hunters. When he was a blacksmith's apprentice in turn-of-the-century Kansas, Hoyt Buck learned how to temper steel for a better edge. Using these forging methods, he created his first customized Buck Knife in 1902. Forty-three years later, Hoyt set up a full-scale operation in San Diego, CA with his son, Al. Starting with Buck Knives' legendary Model 110 Folding Hunter, the brand has continued to grow and now offers a diverse selection of models, from trusty lockbacks and folding pocket knives for camping to fixed-blade hunting knives and survival knives for the backcountry.
