5.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect for 9 - 10 year old kids

Purchased 2 of these, one for my 7 year old & one for a 9 year old. They work perfectly and are adjustable enough to fit their different body sizes. These also have some storage, so they can carry their own snacks.

I purchased both this product and the CamelBak Skeeter Hydration Pack - 1L. This product (Mini MULE) is far superior to the Skeeter.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Kids Hydration Backpack

We got this for our 3 year old for his birthday. With the straps clinched up all the way it fits him perfectly. He loves having access to water whenever he wants it and makes it easier for us when going on small hikes. It is very lightweight which is good for a small child but may affect the durability. My son also enjoys the little whistle on the chest strap and is a great safety feature. Testing it out we filled the bladder between 1 and 1.5 liters and put a small stuffed animal in the open pocket and a small snack. There was room for a few extra things but we wanted to keep the weight down for our 3 year old so he could carry it. He loves it and enjoys wearing it around the house!

I bought these for both my kids because they hate carrying their own water. They are very light and hold a good amount of water for their size. The pack part is really nice and really well made - the drinking part, not so great. We tested these out on a quick hike (<2 miles). Before the hike was over, my son's pack had a hole in it where you sip. He is not particularly hard on things and this was the very first time he had used it. I really expected a product that is for kids to be more durable. Camelbak does have a warranty, so I probably will contact them about it.

About CamelBak

The story behind CamelBak hydration packs started back in 1988 when a guy named Michael Eidson was preparing for the “Hotter’N Hell 100,” a 100-mile summer cycling race in Wichita Falls. Before the event, Michael (an EMT by trade) filled an IV bag with water and stashed it in the back of his jersey. With the tube slung over his shoulder and a clothespin to pinch it closed in between drinks, Michael had unknowingly created the prototype for what would become the CamelBak hydration system. Fast forward more than 25 years, and CamelBak is now the world’s leading hydration pack company, with more than 80 different products, including reservoirs, backpacks, hip packs, CamelBak water bottles, travel mugs and more.
