5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Support & Comfort

This is my first pair of Chaco sandals. Having recently been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis I was told all I would be able to wear were clunky, full shoes that would accommodate my new custom 'behemoth' orthodics. :( When my feet are hot, so am I and with summer here would be my first summer to never be able to wear anything other than hot closed in shoes...socks needed to keep inserts clean & further endurance. When I was enlightened at our nearby REI of this shoe and how well it works for issues such as mine (feet have gone flat over years) and that I should try them I was skeptical, especially since they ran $105...I did not have that for shoes since my doc visits & new inserts had already set my budget into a spiral of sorts. Well then came my promotional coupon from STP, I've ordered for years from them and never been disappointed. Customer service is outstanding and the merchandise is too, making sure to read all info on items of interest is key. In any case, I ordered an 8M based on suggestion of sizing, I normally wear a 7.5M and the 8M fits. My only beef is it runs normal for a size 8 and is long on my foot, however the width is perfect and the arch is well placed. Getting use to the added length is my challenge but then I've always been a bit klutzy. Ideally I would have preferred a 7W and ordered another shoe in the 7W and like the length & width even more and since the wide widths are limited I at least have an alternate option now. Thank you STP for making shoes available at an affordable price, and thanks for the live help & phone assistance too. :)

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Getting to Know

I've never been a chaco person but since Teva's gone all low-end quality, but not price, and opted for a wider footbed, I had no choice for a sandal I can take on any adventure. The quality is there and I do like the one strap tighten. They stay on my foot better on rocks and when wet. Still getting used to the weight, though.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. I Love Chacos!

I've worn chacos for years, my old pair also had a Vibram Outsole and no toe loop and I loved them! I wore them for two years of being an adventure guide, during that time they went with me white water rafting (at least 4 times a week), caving, rappelling, and on hikes. They also carried me through 40 miles of AT (the Virginia/West Virginia section). Finally, I had to order a new pair because the sole on the old ones (after 5 years of abuse) finally gave out. These are literally the best sandals for your money. They protect your feet well, are extremely comfortable and hold up to whatever adventure you want to take them (and your feet!) on.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Tough in pink!

Solid without being heavy, out of the box onto your feet, no need for breaking in. Used for everyday around town, hiking, kayaking, trail running! This is only the 2nd pair of Chacos I have ever bought and I still have the first pair in full use after eight years! I just couldn't pass up my favorite style at such a great price!
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Sandals!

I am a confirmed Chaco sandal lover. Only comment is if one were wearing Unaweep sandals for a very active hike or in the water the ones with the toe strap would feel more secure than this style.

These sandals look even better in person than on the screen. They are very comfortable with just the right amount of arch support. I personally like the fit of the Unaweep over the Yampa. The Yampa just didn't seem to have enough support for my feet. I have narrow feet with very low arches. When I wear Chacos, I never have to think about trying to keep my sandals on my feet. That is a big deal for someone with narrow feet! I don't buy these for the label, I buy them for the quality.
