Over the years I've tried wading boots from everyone from Redington to Simms, and by far these Patagonia Ultralight Wading Boots are my favorite. That being said, I would never pay their requested list price, but here I was able to get them for over 50% off!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Patagonia quality

Originally procured these wading boots for an upcoming back country fishing adventure where weight is a primary consideration. Have worn them several times now and am quite pleased with their performance on the water as well as hiking to & from the river. Echoing other reviews, they can run a bit small depending upon your socks and waders so if the boot foot is more than 2mm and/or you wear heavy socks it would be best to go up a size. Have not tried them on a very slippery river yet but so far they have performed admirably.

Love Patagonia and love that Sierra trading post always has the best prices. I always check here first before making a purchase online. The boots fit great and offer good support for walking in creeks.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Good Boot

Looks to be a solid built boot and comfortable. Have not been in the stream yet with them but so far they fit well. I ordered a size 9 but had to return them and get a full size bigger because of the neoprene stockings, so if you order a pair get a full size bigger than your "actual" size.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great wading boots

I recently purchased these boots (my 2nd pair of Patagonia boots) and am 100% satisfied with my purchase. These boots are comfortable, lightweight and support your foot/ankle well. High recommend these boots to anyone considering a purchase.

In regards to sizing, I'd suggest ordering your street shoe size as Patagonia sizes these boots with wading in mind. I wear a street shoe size 11 which fits me like a glove and these boots in size 11 fit perfect with 2 pair of socks (1 thin + 1 thick) and my wader booties.

If you're planning to wade anywhere that has rocks I'd strongly recommend wading studs for extra grip or you'll be "ice skating". These boots do not come with studs, so just go to your local hardware store and get some #12 x 1/2" sheet metal screws; the same thing you get from Patagonia at a fraction of the cost.

I'm giving these boots a 5 as I can't think of a single downfall with them. Of course durability is TBD, but if for some reason they fall short on durability I'll revisit this review and reduce stars.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight for Wading

These boots are well constructed and extremely lightweight; perfect for packing or hiking in. I went one size up on these and the fit was perfect for me with Patagonia stocking foots. Other features include closed eyelets to prevent line tangles, gusseted tongue, nice arch support and reinforced toe box. The only downside is that the rubber sole is not sticky as previously noted in other reviews. This is not a problem for the waters I fish. but I will add slip on aluminum cleats should the situation arise. A great value.
