We purchased this harness so would have a handle to help our dog up after knee surgery, the handle does allow us to help him stand ( but need to retighten straps each time). Also, leash attachment so weak that even in our dog's weaken state he pulled slightly & leash attachment bent and broke off. Only dog this would work well with is a very weak lethargic dog that occasionally need to have harness with handle
