5.0 out of 5 stars. Well-made and sturdy dog harnessVerified Buyer Reviewed by Dolly from Western New York on Wednesday, February 1, 2017We were impressed with this product because it feels and looks extremely well-made and sturdy. We have a 10 pound dachshund and the extra small was too big for her. We had been attacked by an off-leash pit bull a couple of years ago and we were able to pull her smaller more compact sister out of harm's way with her harness. This doxie is more typical long and lean and a proper harness that supports her back for a lift up and out of harm's way is what we need. This would have been perfect except too large. Ruffwear has an excellent Youtube video to help with fitting and using this harness properly. I think this would fit a tweenie or standard Dachshund very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars. GratefulVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Cali on Wednesday, February 1, 2017I am extremely grateful this product exists as it seems to be the only one on the market like it... and to this standard! I buy a lot of what Ruffwear has to offer... it feels sturdy an thought out. The ONLY thing is that, I feel, the neck area should have more adjustment range.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Amazing QualityVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from California on Tuesday, January 24, 2017I've been wanting this harness for a while now. Ruffwear is the top of the line when it comes to active dog gear. This harness is amazing for anyone who wants to go rappelling down a canyon with their pup. The fit was amazing and I tested the harness and my dog was so comfortable. Well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Dog hated, human lovedVerified Buyer Reviewed by NW Hiker from Washington on Thursday, July 28, 2016I have wanted to take my furry friends out climbing for years, but didn't feel comfortable doing rock or glacier climbs with the gear I had available. This year, with my youngest wanting to finish the "Big Five" glacier climbs in Washington, I looked for more acceptable options to take the dog. The Doubleback harness seems to be the only one on the market specifically made for this level of activity. Although I would have preferred a small, the only ones available from Sierra were in extra small (my dog is on the high side of extra small and low side of small). Sierra's pricing was great! All the other pricing was $125 for the harness. Harness is fairly heavy but incredibly well constructed. The attention to detail appears better than on many human seat harnesses. I tried the harness on the dog ... the dog seemed to think I was trying to kill him. When the back leg loops are used, I could not imagine a dog falling out of this harness ... it is really well designed and constructed for furry friends. On the glacier, he still seemed to think I was torturing him, but due to the length of glacier travel, and smaller crevasses, I did not use the back leg loops. The top haul attachment provided a great personal anchor to me and provided a great way for me to carry/throw the dog across crevasses. All said, this is an excellent product and well worth the cost ... if you need this type of product.
