The "full-palm" design might be better suited to colder weather (here in the humid south the palm will likely not dry very quickly, but not having used them yet, I may be pleasantly surprised). I commonly fish from kayaks, so having the full palm will be useful in avoiding blister and abrasion from all-day paddling.
