The little circles on the bottom are the only grippy part and they barely stick past the main area that you would slide on ceramic tiles...most of my house. So had the entire bottom been made of grippy rubber they would be safe, but I don't feel like slip sliding away once those rubber dots burn down and you're doing a 30's Swing Jazz-Tap dance to stay on your feet! -

Soft enough to lounge around, but with a sturdy enough sole to run out to the car, or store. I wear a 10-1/2, so went with the 11. Perfect it, so glad I went up a size, instead of down.
