Water beads up on it and it is wind proof but it's not hot like some similar jackets can be. Wearing it throughout a work day I keep expecting to have to take it off in warm rooms but it stays cool and breaths, never feeling close. Folds small for what it is. The bit of stretch is good for sliding the sleeves up.
