They seemed a bit snug, but then, I have a bunion that is sometimes hard to accommodate. So I took a chance and exchanged them for a size 7. In this case, that helped them fit better. I think this depends on one' s foot shape. Generally I don't go up a size. After wearing them for 10 minutes they felt even better. I would say these are probably accurate in sizing, i.e., I don't think I can say they are smaller than the true size, especially if you have a normal medium foot width. But for me I needed to go a half size up.

For instance, ASICS athletic shoes I wear a 10 but so far with every Clark shoe I wear a 9 and it's a perfect fit. I must say that the show fits best with silky trouser stocking. If planning to wear thick socks, consider going up half a size. They're extremely comfortable and keep my feet very warm, even in the Winter.
