These are lightweight wool. The thicker smart wool ski socks with padding don't fit under some of my shoes, but these are thinner with less padding. They're less bulky and keep my feet toasty warm.

These socks are great for hiking on those cold days and for me to wear to work under my scrubs to keep warm. I also love how stretchy they are some wool socks can be stiff but not these!

I put it 9n one morning and wasn’t able to change it for a few hours. My ankle was sore for several days afterward. I didn’t even try on the other pairs I bought and sent them all back. What a bummer! I love this brand.

They were made well, were true to size in the feet, but the tops came up to an odd place at the largest part of my calves - and I have normal, not fat, legs. I'm 5'3", size 10-12 in clothing, and usually have no problem fitting into regular-width shoes, socks, jeggings, leggings, etc. These socks just seemed like they'd become uncomfortable after wearing them for more than a few minutes. Didn't come up to just below the knee (like a true knee sock), nor up to the beginning of the calf (like a lot of sports socks), but smack-dab in the middle of those two points. Maybe they'd fit better on someone shorter than 5'3".
