They actually have fairly loose legs tapered in a little at the ankle. The fabric is light and silky. Packs well but doesn't strike me as rugged. Zipper pocket is a nice feature. Keeping them for travel.

The fabric feels light and silky, working well with warmer temperatures. I purchased medium, usually wearing size 6 or 8 because .of preferring nothing tight around my waist. The size small would probably have been fine as well. I plan to order a second pair because they feel like lounge pants and would be comfortable to sleep in where insects may be an issue.
