5.0 out of 5 stars. Great value, large & roomy for women but warm

The specs on this will show you exactly what you're getting into with bulkiness and weight. You won't find a better value anywhere though.

I've used this on about -5 F nights and was toasty warm in my 3-season tent with a lightweight baselayer as my PJs. It doesn't have a big puffy draft collar like some bags, but it does have a drawstring to cinch it around your face.

An XL compression sack reduces the size a bit. It's perfect for camping. You can definitely backpack with it if you can't afford a smaller 0 degree bag. I'm a minimalist backpacker but I also have a minimal gear budget so sometimes I just have to deal with larger and heavier gear. I shoved the bag into a 60 L pack with all my other stuff, including a 4 lb tent, 4 days of food, fuel, stove, etc. It was heavy but winter backpacking is always heavy unless you can buy the top gear.

I usually buy women-specific sleeping bags (I'm 5'5", 145 lbs) but didn't have a choice when looking for an affordable 0 degree bag. This one is so big and roomy that I can fit my summer bag (2009 EMS Velocity 35 F women's) inside of it with room to spare. This means I now have a setup that I can use way below zero!

I haven't had any problems with the zippers, they snag about as often as my other bags (not infrequently if you don't use care).

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Seems warm, but too big

I did not get a chance to actually use this sleeping bag, as I had intended to buy it as a great zero-degree bag for backpacking; however, the pack size of this was insanely large, and despite trying compression sacks, it would not pack down. I would highly recommend using this bag for car-camping or general camping, but it is just unreasonable to bring on a backpacking trip. Seems like a great bag though!

Used this bag in 40* temperatures and it was wonderful. I get cold easily because of medical conditions and age (71) and it was great. What a value!

I paid $75 for mine & then I come across this one on sale for about $20 less! Same sleeping bag, brand & everything. Couldn't be happier (: We live in MT & 0° bags are a MUST! Thank you so much. Will continue ordering from Sierra Trading Post. (My package even arrived quickly)
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Good Bag, Great Price

I wanted to get all of my kids a sleeping bag that would last them a few years. They are growing out of the kid sizes. We aren't backpackers or anything... so the bulkiness of the bag didn't bother us at all. But we are starting to camp more and I wanted something warm and dependable. We just spent a weekend in Moab, UT. Temperatures reached down into the low 40's upper 30's and we were all comfortable - no problem. In fact, some of my kids kicked their bag off during the night a couple of times. The sleeping bags were easy to pack up and help up well. No complaints at all. A few people have mentioned the zipper thing. But we didn't have any issue.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Really small foot box

This bag was really cheap and it is very warm but it seems to get really narrow where your feet are and I just can't get used to it. I'm 5' 9" and weigh 170 with a size 9 foot so pretty average sized. I've had to use women's bags before and have probably been in a dozen different ones and have never had this issue before. I wish I tried it at home first before I just brought it on a trip.
