The tongue of these boots are worthless!!!!
Water will setup right in. Wind and snow will feel the chill!!! No protection on tongue! Don't buy if you want warmth! -

The laces are mostly decoration or for snugging up after they're on. The boots don't open up to get them on. The fur is not the "tongue" of the boot. It's just the front of the shaft of the boot. I gave them to my daughter.

They are now a little too snug for a thick sock, but I've found that as the winter goes on they'll stretch out a bit and allow more room. The tall shaft is all of a piece, so does not open up a whole lot, and you need some muscle to pull them on -- but once on, they are super warm and have great support. They'll work well with a snowshoe and not too clunky to be able to drive in them. If you like the mountain woman look, these are beautiful boots.

I ordered two pairs of boots one was a size 9 and one was a size 10, they were different. I was thinking that i would get the same boots in both sizes but there was stuff missing (draw string and there was no tags on the one pair.) this was not a deal breaker but kind of upsetting to think that i cant tighten the top of my boots.

They look good, have great traction, and most importantly: keep my feet warm and dry in snowy, cold conditions. They do take a few extra seconds to get on and off, but it's definitely worth it. Great winter boots!
