Have used it in rain yet, but I think it will serve my purposes. I'm a 38-40 chest. I got the large and it fits nicely over a sweater or other layer garment. Just a note: The zipper zips on the opposite side of most men's jackets, so you'll have to relearn a bit how to take off the jacket.
