They look "ancient" if you know what I mean. But they are surprisingly comfortable and go well with jeans. I would love to have them in other colors.

I also walked several blocks in them and while I am not putting them in the "walking" shoe category, they are pretty comfy for the size of the heel because they have a nice footbed. I took the advice others and ordered 1/2 size bigger. I have several pairs of Borns (6 and counting) and this is the first pair of 40's I have ever bought. I have a similar pair if MJ style Borns too and they are a 39. I don't know on this one, but I would go 1/2 size up if buying. I like the distressed brown, it's funky and different. It gives the shoes great texture and color.
