5.0 out of 5 stars. My Everything Pack

My Camelbak quickly replaced my purse on my trip to the Smokies. It has a large storage capacity with several pockets for water, snacks, bug spray, guide books, cameras, first aid kit, and $$.

It also was useful in storing a variety of leaves I collected to make a dichotomous key for my biology class.

It's the perfect size to carry just enough water, jacket and snacks. Hydration system works great and easy to fill.comfortable for all day hikes and water stayed cool.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Well-built and beautiful

This is a heavy duty technical day pack. It's well constructed, has lots of handy features, and nice capacity. Unfortunately for me, it was too long in the torso. Even when I got the hip belt in the right place, the top didn't hit me where it should on the shoulders and it was uncomfortable. If you're taller or more normally waisted, it would probably work for you. I hated to send it back but will continue using my Daystar (less water capacity w/ great internal capacity) or Luxe (more water, less internal capacity) until I can find a good replacement that checks all the boxes.

I took this pack on a 20 mile hike for the first time use....in Arizona. There was plenty of water capacity, but it was a bit uncomfortable. Lots of space for food and clothing as I shed layers throughout the day.

About CamelBak

The story behind CamelBak hydration packs started back in 1988 when a guy named Michael Eidson was preparing for the “Hotter’N Hell 100,” a 100-mile summer cycling race in Wichita Falls. Before the event, Michael (an EMT by trade) filled an IV bag with water and stashed it in the back of his jersey. With the tube slung over his shoulder and a clothespin to pinch it closed in between drinks, Michael had unknowingly created the prototype for what would become the CamelBak hydration system. Fast forward more than 25 years, and CamelBak is now the world’s leading hydration pack company, with more than 80 different products, including reservoirs, backpacks, hip packs, CamelBak water bottles, travel mugs and more.
