The hard-wearing Vibram® rubber outsole provides exceptional grip on wet, dry and rough terrain.

Only worn them a few days so far but they are great so far in some pretty wet and rough terrain. I really like Hi-Tec. Great bang for the buck. As good or better than boots that cost a lot more in my opinion. I'd give 'em a 5 but haven't had 'em long enough to know if they will hold up. My Mt. Diablo's have held up well with hard use over 2 years.

Very light (for hiking boots) but provides good ankle support and the half shank should protect trail worn feet. Absolutely love the Vibram soles...very sticky rubber and sharp edged lugs protect great traction.
The only improvement would be to put a rubber welt over the toe area to prevent scuffing the leather. -

The boots are nicely put together and look much more expensive than $70. The uppers are Leather but appear to be plastic coated (?) Time & a few scuffs will tell. They were not uncomfortably stiff at first, but a week of city wear has them feeling "broke in".
These are really comfortable, well made boots that look & feel like they will last several seasons of recreational hiking. Just what I was looking for! -
