The top cinches tight so snow doesn't get in but the liners come out for quick drying in the case they don't get cinched (quick drying). They have been very warm and water resistant. My nephew loves them. The only thing that I noticed was that they are a bit heavier than I expected. Very nice high quality boots. I would buy them again and again.
