5.0 out of 5 stars. Superb Base Layer
Reviewed by sully126 from Tidewater, VA on Sunday, November 25, 2018
Mountain Logic has made a winning piece of gear with this base layer. I bought both the top & the bottoms and both items are 5 stars. Well-constructed & warm. Fit is athletic- I am 5'11" / 195 lbs and the Large fit close to my body without constricting anyplace. When the mock-T was fully zipped, it had the 'Goldilocks' amount of snugness, not too loose, not too tight (FWIW, my neck is about a 16.5/17"). Sleeves are long to allow using the thumb holes, but easily shove back under your midlayer without bunching up. Overall, great gear at a great STP price. Note- Mountain Logic recently re-branded themselves as 'Bight Gear', just FYI. Don't know why they did that, because their gear doesn't bite at all! LOL

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Technical Base Layer
Reviewed by Backyard Overland from New Jersey on Friday, January 11, 2019
Overall, very pleased with this top. The Polartec Power Wool is my new favorite base layer material (I've used poly-pro, silk, merino and every flavor of grid fleece [all the capilenes]). It's warmth to weight is comparable and maybe slightly above that of a P'gonia midweight cap. The fit is athletic: snug but not constricting.

    Pros:
    - Flat-felled stitching throughout the entire garment (except a small, offset seam at the forearm)
    - Longer zip-neck than the competition for quick venting of heat and easy on off (makes it easy to put on my heart monitor)
    - Longer body than the competition
    - Much longer sleeves for coverage all the way to the knuckles
    - Rolled fabric at the neck for comfort
    - Gusseted armpits

    Cons:
    - It's not really suited for casual wear due to the technical details (long sleeves and body)
    - Long sleeves can be worn normally but they bunch at the wrist
    - While not as frou-frou in person as it looks on the site, the blue color takes some getting used to (there were no more of the grey left in my size)

One of those new wool hybrid layers. This one is as good as they get. Fit is perfect... I'm 6'2", and with 165... The small is a perfect base layer. And a great price.
