What we discovered across the board was they were a tad smaller than listed. My daughter, who is 23 and typically fits a 4-6 should have easily fit into a S or M. I ordered a M and they were very snug on her. They are stretchy so she made-do. Definitely recommend ordering a size up from the sizing chart.

Here we are on our first ski outing vacation and these pants DO NOT GO OVER MY BOOTS!!! Seriously- there is NO way these go over boots- so they sit all waded up on top of my boots. Hoping I can send these back.

I was not able to fully close the ankle zips over the top of my snowboard boots ( they have Boa wire technology, so that does create more bulk). However, the pants are really well made, excellent stretch and comfy. Not going to work for me though. I am 5'5 and 140 pounds.

Which means them XL is for a since 10/12. IF you are a size 16 you would normally be an XL. I bought a 2XXL to be sure and it seems I nned a 3XXXL.... which would normally be for size 20-22 women. Not a Size 16 woman.

I can't comment on the snow friendliness, since it's just fall, but I'm excited to try them out this winter.
